What about Friends?

2 12 2011

There are so many definitions of what a friend is. We receive them through our emails, through the special cards we receive, through poems and movies and the list goes on. The messages tell us things like:

True friends never let you down…

True friends are always there for you…

True friends always say the right thing…

True friends  never betray you…

True friends always  buy you special gifts…

True friends will do anything for you…

True friends know you inside out and know your every thought…

Wow…

So what happens when our friends are “human”?

When they break a promise…

When they chose to be with someone else in need when you need them.

When they are having a rough day and they say the  wrong thing …

When they take a step into betrayal, not realizing the end result and are sorry for what they did…

When they don’t buy you “the right present”…

When they can’t do what you demand of them…

When they cant read your mind…

I don’t know about you but that’s pretty high expectations! I would hope that a friend wouldn’t expect all of this from me.  I am certain as I am human that  I am bound to let them down eventually at some time during our friendship.

There is no doubt that fairy tale moments exist between friends, but true friendships are where two people accept and forgive each others imperfections and failures.

True and forever friendships are the ones which say…

Its okay…

I forgive you…

I understand even though I don’t understand…

I ACCEPT YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU ARE ABLE TO GIVE IS ALL I NEED RIGHT NOW.

Being a friend is the best part of the friendship. The moment we expect, is the moment we are disappointed. Enjoy loving without any expectations. That’s what a friendship is…The opportunity to love…and the opportunity  to express forgiveness.

Believe in the Impossible

22 09 2011

The moment in which we believe… is the moment in which we accept it and it becomes our truth.

Believe in miracles!!

For with God…

All things are possible…

Is there something deep within your soul which you long for?

If it is in your thoughts, in your heart and is your desire…

Then it is worth pursuing and taking the chance for!!

Could that be God’s voice speaking to you??

God will not allow you to give up on his wonderful purposes for you…

His desires are for our ultimate peace and happiness!

But be careful and discern whether it is a temporary lust or a God approved desire.

This is the tricky part…

But again with God all things are possible and he will give you his wisdom…simply for the asking.

And be patient as he works it out for you!!!

Remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day?

God’s beauty takes time to grow…

Enjoy watching your dream unfold…one baby step at a time!

My Soul Mate

22 09 2011

A soul mate is someone who God  puts into our lives.

Our soul mate is someone who:

Hurts when we hurt…

Rejoices when we rejoice…

To love someone as deeply as to love a soul mate is a very risky business!

It requires that we put  faith in God as we trust this person with our heart and soul…

Soul mates are stuck together with “crazy glue”

When one soul mate falls…the other falls.

When one soul mate gets up…the other gets up.

Is it right to put that much trust in another person?

I believe that there comes a time in our lives when we need to ask ourselves this question.

It truly is a unique bond…

At times it is a painful bond…

But it is a bond which is never broken…

Mom and Dad I know that you two share that bond!

I have a soul mate too…

We are hurting a little bit right now but…

Soul mates also have the power to restore each others lives…

When one soul mate is praying…the other is being prayed for…

Soul mates have a way with each other that others can not understand or explain.

Soul mates can not be torn apart by any person or situation.

They may be separated for a while but the chain that binds them together only grows new links as required.

Soul mates have a powerful force beyond themselves which works to ensure that the bond is never broken…

The force which is God, always keeps them from losing each other…

The force which is God, finds a way to say stop when they are hurting…

My soul mate and I have a name…

And that name means…

IN GOD WE TRUST  (McNaughton)

Too Good to be True?

15 08 2011

How many opportunities do we allow to pass us by when we believe something is too good to be true! It is honestly a dangerous belief!

If we believe or want to believe that God is amazing then why do we allow this to set us off course when something amazing surfaces in our lives?

Is there something going on in your life which you dream about and think about but you believe it will never happen or it is just too good to be true or become reality?

In the past week something is beginning to surface in my life which has given me a vision of so much joy, peace and happiness…I have been on top of the world as this has begun to unfold. Many of my friends and coworkers share my joy and my sparkle. I am dreaming again!

The dream snatcher came to visit me! Good thing I recognized him! He used many means to try to stop me from pursuing my dream…

  • Doubt
  • Suspicion
  • Fear
  • Disbelief

How do we overcome his attempts at taking our joy away from us?

It is so confusing. People say go with your heart. Well we all know that the heart can be deceiving too….So what the heck?

This is what I have learned and I want to share it with you.

The dream is a gift that keeps us motivated and hopeful. We need to continue to believe in our dreams. We also need to know that our awesome creator has it all planned out for us. He knows what we desire and long for. He knows more than we do about the details and how this will unfold.

TRUST!!!!!

Trust that you will be able to handle any outcome from pursuing the dream.

Trust that you will learn important lessons as you go for it!

It will not all go perfectly along the way but it will always work its way back to perfection as you continue to believe that it is not too good to be true!!

Thats how God is. He truly is amazing and his plans are the plans which are too good to be true.

Don’t allow the dream snatcher to take it away from you! Go with it and trust. Some people will go to any means to protect you from getting disappointed or hurt. Some people will not allow you to give up. We need both sides to work it out….Balance the advice and do what your heart desires.

Don’t you think that if it is too good to be true…it is definitely something to consider and take the steps before us to allow it to unfold. Don’t let the dream snatcher close the door to your success and happiness!

I pray that you will trust and believe that it is never too good to be true!

ON INSECURITY AND FEAR….

7 03 2011

Today…I face the monster of insecurity!!

It is trying to hold me back from pressing forward….But it is not winning!

My victory is in God and his awesome plans…His time…not mine…not ours!

Step by step…Only one at a time…And sometimes very, very miniscule ones!!!

So hard to see!!

But I don’t need to see it!

That is where my faith in you kicks in.

This is where I know you are carrying me LORD!!!

Today is a magnificent new day!!!

It is bright.

It is sunny.

It is good!!!

It is God in charge!!!

Love you LORD!!!

I thank you for allowing me to see You!!!!

Gratitude is an Action

14 11 2010

When I think of gratitude I have the urge to express. I put my thinking cap on to gather the things together in my mind which cause me to feel joy.

As I sit here this morning I realize I have 2 choices. One is to focus on the things which are not the way I want them to be. The other is to focus on the fulfilling things I have so handy in this moment.

Why would I choose to go in the direction of discontent if I am able to find joy?

I take action in thanking God, accepting the joy he is providing right here and now. It takes a conscious effort on my behalf, knowing that I am worthy of the splendor and joy which lurks around me.

I express my gratitude for the presence of my loving husband sleeping on the couch; the sound of the dishwasher taking care of my household duty; the “feel good” music reaching my ears; the calmness and beauty of the nature scene beholding me as I look outside my patio doors…

My ability to choose provides an open door to the joy of gratitude.
